How Consumers Use AI for Smarter Holiday Shopping

While a growing number of consumers are turning to AI for holiday shopping assistance, concerns around privacy and trust remain. Here's what you need to know:

  • 33% of shoppers in the U.S., U.K., and Australia plan to use AI for holiday shopping, especially for gift ideas, price comparisons, and deal evaluations, according to a UserTesting survey of 4,000 consumers.

  • Generational adoption varies significantly: 56% of Gen Z and 50% of millennials intend to use AI tools, compared to lower interest among older generations.

  • Despite privacy and scam concerns, 81% of Gen Z, 70% of Millennials, and 56% of Gen X believe AI will reshape how they shop within three years.

  • Surveys from Coveo and Klaviyo back the trend, showing that over 50% of shoppers are open to using AI for personalized recommendations and price checks during Black Friday–Cyber Monday.

  • Retailers are also adopting AI, with a Deloitte survey finding that nearly 75% use AI to guide buying decisions amid shifting trade policies.
