Amazon Shipping is increasing its peak season fees for the 2025 holiday period. Here's what you need to know:
- New surcharges take effect from Oct. 26, 2025, through Jan. 17, 2026. The highest fees apply from Nov. 23 to Dec. 27, including a $0.60 per-package demand surcharge and $10.80 for additional handling.

During peak, a large package incurs a $107 surcharge (vs. $90 off-peak). Extra heavy packages jump to $540 during peak, up from $485.

These fees exceed Amazon’s 2024 peak surcharges and follow a pattern similar to FedEx and UPS, who also implement temporary holiday fees.

Unlike 2024, Amazon is not applying a volume-based surcharge this year, simplifying the pricing structure for shippers.

Amazon Shipping’s U.S. parcel volume grew 7.3% YoY in 2024, outpacing USPS, UPS, and FedEx. New clients include BarkBox and KiwiCo, who reported faster and more cost-effective deliveries.
