DTC Heating & Air Conditioning Brands

Home heating and air conditioning products are entering the DTC space. Here's what you need to know:

  • Quilt, an all-electric heating pump company aims to sell more energy-efficient heating ventilation and AC systems. Quilt also aims to update the way people buy these systems by relying on a DTC model.
  • Cultivating brand loyalty for something as straightforward as HVAC systems can be difficult. Quilt is trying to differentiate itself by stressing how its products look sleek and integrate well into an existing space.
  • Windmill and July are two other DTC air conditioner brands that both launched at the start of the pandemic in 2020.
  • July grew their customer base fivefold from 2020 to 2021 and Windmill is on track to have 100k customers in every state of the country by the end of the summer.
  • Windmill attributed more than half of its 2023 business to DTC, but the brand also sells wholesale through PC Richards, Lowe's, and other retailers.
